Our exact recipe is closely guarded but is based on the traditional Russian methods of vodka distillation, perfected to an art through decades of making Sputnik Vodka. We can however reveal the key stages of our methods that are essential for creating the quality you will find in our vodka:
The highest quality winter grain is distilled and filtered through tons of birch charcoal, sourced from the Perm region of Russia, resulting in a superior DE LUX class spirit. This process is meticulously repeated three times to remove the maximum amount of impurities without stripping Sputnik of its deliciously smooth grain taste.
The natural spring water in Sputnik Vodka is refined through unique silver filters that deliver ultimate purity. The delicious grain flavour is intensified by the freshness that only natural, un-distilled water can offer. The water is the blended with the spirit (at 3 water molecules to 1) to meet the Russian vodka standard of 40% ABV. Historically in Russia, vodkas with less than 40% ABV are considered substandard and regarded as pseudo-vodkas.
Subtle hints of Acacia honey enhance the vodka’s character and give Sputnik a smooth yet perfectly balanced taste. |
